In
an afternoon doubleheader, Rock Island scored 10 runs to end in a tie against Normal
Community and then could muster just one hit in a loss to Normal West.
In the first game,
Rock Island and Normal Community each scored 10 runs in seven innings and, in order to get
both games in, both coaches decided to call the stalemate.
In the second game
against West, University of Georgia recruit Luke Stewart had a three-run double and a solo
homer to beat the Rocks 4-0.
"These were two
teams that didn't have any errors and that's only going to make us better," Rock
Island coach Andy Campbell said. "The outcome of today's games was very
positive." |
