- - - Rock Island 4, Joliet Catholic 2: Chase Stephens had a strong outing, striking out seven in six innings to lead the Rocks (12-2) in non-conference action.

Stephens helped his own cause with a single and a double, and Grant Snyder also had a single and a double with two RBIs for Rock Island. The Rocks' are geering up for crosstown Western Big 6 Conference rival Moline on Saturday.
