Rock Island shut out Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin 9-0 in the first game of a
doubleheader, with pitcher Clayton George giving up only four hits.
Marcus Youngquist and Jim Wignall each had two RBIs for Rock Island. Dan Morrison had
three of Rocky's 11 hits.
In the nightcap, Rock Island jumped to 6-0 after two innings on their way to an 11-5
victory.
Jake Vroman collected three RBIs and winning pitcher Steve Mumma had three hits. The
Rocks host a doubleheader with Assumption Monday at 3:30 p.m.
