Rock Island Rocks opened up it's season with a doubleheader sweep at Macomb High School
with good batting and strong pitching
In the opener, Nick Carmack
had a double and three singles, driving in two runs for Rock Island. Other strong
offensive efforts by Rocky were Jake Vroman with a home run and three RBI'S and Jim
Wignall with two hits and 2 RBI's.
Rock Island scored five runs in the
first and fourth innings while their pitching staff gave up one run on three hits.
Clayton George picked up the win on the mound.
Macomb was no match for the
Rocks in the second game either, as it gave up four runs in the first inning, six in the
second inning and two in the third inning. Five Rocks drove in two runs apiece,
including George who had two doubles. |
