Sophomore boys' basketball UTHS Silvis Optimist
Tourney: Moline pulled out an improbable 76-61, comeback victory over Rockford
Boylan in the opening round of the Silvis Optimist Sophomore Basketball Tournament at UTHS
on Wednesday.
Moline scored half of its 78 points in the fourth quarter against Boylan. Moline's Josh
Lorentzen scored 11 of his 19 points in that period to led the Maroons.
Moline will play Galesburg in the semifinal round at 2:30 p.m. in the boys' gym at UTHS
today. Galesburg advanced with a 59-44 win over Alleman Wednesday.
UT defeated Freeport 70-52 in opening round play, and Rock Island defeated Geneseo
78-52. UT and Rock Island will play the early semifinal game today at 1 p.m. in the UTHS
boys' gym.
In the consolation bracket, Freeport faces Geneseo at 1 p.m. in the girls' gym, with
the Boylan-Alleman game following at 2:30 p.m.
The consolation championship will be decided at 6 tonight, and the title game will be
at 7:30 p.m.
